Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-05

Use of the service

Tkahk3 is a hiking trip planner. By signing in and using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not sign in. These Terms apply alongside the Privacy Policy.

Account and access

You sign in via Google OAuth. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you use, including its password and any second factor. We do not see your Google password — only the access and refresh tokens Google issues after you consent. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google account security settings.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attempt to access data, accounts, or systems that do not belong to you;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without prior written permission;
  • use automated means to overload, interfere with, or extract bulk data from the service;
  • upload content (e.g. GPX files) that you do not have the right to upload, or that contains malware;
  • misrepresent yourself or impersonate another person.

Trail data disclaimer

Trail information shown in the app — including geometry, difficulty, elevation gain, distance, and conditions — is derived from open data sources (OpenStreetMap, USGS, and user contributions) and is provided for informational purposes only. It may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Before you hike, verify route, conditions, regulations, and seasonal access with authoritative sources for the area you plan to visit.

Weather disclaimer

Weather forecasts displayed by Tkahk3 are sourced from third-party providers. Forecasts are predictions, not guarantees. Mountain weather changes quickly. Plan for conditions worse than the forecast and turn back when warranted.

Your responsibility

Hiking and backcountry travel carry inherent risks, including injury, illness, getting lost, exposure to wildlife or weather, and death. You alone are responsible for your safety, your preparation, your fitness, your equipment, your route choice, and your decisions on the trail. Tkahk3 is a planning tool, not a guide service, and is no substitute for your own judgment, experience, and on-the-ground awareness.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tkahk3 is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall the operator be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, or for personal injury — arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, even if the operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Third-party services

Tkahk3 relies on third-party services including Google APIs, Supabase, OpenWeather, and Vercel (described in the Privacy Policy). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. Tkahk3 is not responsible for outages, data loss, or behaviors of those services.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason in our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time by following the process described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after a revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
